…Xenos hordes… ravaging… can’t hold…..
by Senior Adminstratus on Jan.23, 2009, under Administratum Updates
As severe warpstorms cut off the Anchor Corridor from the galactic south, Imperial astropaths received one last broken signal. The Xenos fleets have all but completely overrun the valiant imperial defenders and foul chaos daemon worshippers on all but a handful of worlds in the Corridor.
Relief ships sent into the area have either been lost or destroyed in the massive storms that have begun to wrack the Empyrian.
At the end of six weeks of intense fighting and bloody battles for the scattered worlds of the Corridor it appears as if the tide of ork, tyranid, tau and eldar fleets have become all-but-unstoppable. Colonies have been destroyed, outposts taken and uncounted natives and settlers killed.
For the worlds of the Anchor Corridor, the future looks bleak indeed.
I’d like to take this opportunity to say thank you to all our players and participants. Thank you! I hope you all enjoyed the campaign, I know I did. Over the course of the campaign I’ve learned quite a lot and have a long list of new ideas for improvements and features for the next campaign. I appreciate all of your input and suggestions and be assured many of them will be put into use.
As was stated many weeks ago, the leaders of each faction will be receiving commemorative T-shirts to recognize their efforts and dedication to the cause of their faction. Those top three performers are (note, in the case of a tie for VP’s the prize went to the player with the most games ending in a Win condition):
Imperial: Dan Kurka
Traitor: Robert Glover
Xenos: Rick Lagao
I’ll get your shirts to you within the next week guys. I knwo where to find you all
I hope everyone looks forward to the next NorthernGamer.com Online Campaign. Look for news and announcements on that in a month or so!
Xenos forces rampage across the Corridor!
by Senior Adminstratus on Jan.19, 2009, under Engagement News
In a stunning series of victories over the prior two days, the xenos forces that have been causing such grief to the Imperial and Traitor forces raged across the planets of the Corridor. On Klandathu Prime they fell upon the forces of chaos and pushed them back into the ruins, effectively forcing the planet back into a stalemate. On Ultriss Minor however, they all but wiped the daemon-followers from their bastions, gaining a secure foothold and claiming the planet as their own.
Elsewhere, Imperial astropaths have been predicting fierce warpstorms building up in the Aether, they warn that within a week, travel may become all but impossible within the Corridor!
Crusade Week Five - Sitrep
by Senior Adminstratus on Jan.16, 2009, under Administratum Updates
As the Crusade entered it’s 5th week battle erupted on nearly every single inhabited or contested world in the Corridor. Despite valiant efforts the Imperial forces only briefly managed to obtain control of a second planet before massed Xenos forces overwhelmed and drove them from their beach heads.
Elsewhere in the Corridor the vile forces of Chaos and their allies gained a more secure foothold, putting settlements to the torch and sacrificing colonists, both human and xenos, in the millions. Only a concerted effort can possibly dislodge the Chaos-Scum from the Corridor now, but who will take up the challenge? he fate of millions hangs in the balance.
Several new fleets moved into the area, reinforcing all three factions, but will their efforts be enough to turn the tides of war? Or will they too be chewed up by the machine of war…
Only one week remains in the Crusade and I’d like to put out a Pre-Emptive Thank You to all you folks who’ve participated and given your support throughout. It has been a real blast to organize and run this and I think several things have been learned that will make the next one even better and bigger! I look forward to your continued input and suggestions on the forums. Now, you all have 6 days left to battle, get out there and kick some arse!
Thank you!
Crusade Week Four - Sitrep
by Senior Adminstratus on Jan.09, 2009, under Administratum Updates
The situation in the Anchor Corridor has really heated up this week as the forces of Chaos secured control of three planets, the Xenos fleets collectively swarmed and inhabited 2 planets and the forces of the Imperium finally made some gains and took control of a single planet.
Everything started in a tide of blood on Port Xender as forces from all three factions met in epic battle. The tides of war flowed and shifted but in the end the Daemonic forces reigned supreme and secured control of the ancient Space Station.
Various smaller battles raged across the Corridor throughout the rest of the week, with the Ruinous Powers holding the upper hand as the week came to a close. Still, reports are circulating through the spy-networks of various plans in the works by Xenos and Imperial commanders to make real gains in the coming week.
Battle for Port Xender
by Senior Adminstratus on Jan.06, 2009, under Engagement News
In what will surely go down as a decisive moment in the history of the Anchor Corridor, eleven separate forces converged on the ancient structure of Port Xender in an attempt to secure the orbital construct.
A huge Imperial fleet consisting of elements of the Space Wolves, Imperial Guard, Dark Angels and Blood Ravens, supported by a Warhound titan and massed fleet assets landed in the outlying docking bays and made their way swiftly to the central domes.
Meanwhile, a swarm of ork roks, two Tyranid splinterfleets and even a small tau strikeforce landed in other outlying docking bays and swarmed quickly into the main habitats.
The traitor forces which had previously been occupying the huge Orbital quickly set up various alters and icons throught the hab-domes, sacrificing thousands in a frenzy of warp-energy which quickly broke down the barriers of the Empyrian and brought forth hordes of rampaging daemons.
Battle was quickly joined in Hab-Dome Sigma 92-A7. The Imperial forces quickly moved in, attempting to secure control of the small settlement in the center of the dome and the adjacent park. Swarms of Tyranids and a Tau tank squadron moved to block their advance.
Meanwhile, on the other side of the dome Orks and Tyrnaids swarmed forward towards the Emperor Ascendant, a monument constructed to commemorate a famous Thunderhawk gunship which has been instrumental in driving off previous attacks on Port Xender hundreds of years in the past.
As these forces clashed warp rifts began to open everywhere in the dome, unleashing swarms of raving daemons and their masters. These slavering hordes quickly ripped into anything within reach.
The battle raged for hours, with all factions in the conflict sufferings great gains and settebacks. The Imperials managed to secure the park in the end and fought valiantly in the settlement to secure the important buildings, but in a final clash between Space Wolves supported by a small detachment of Grey Knights, the daemonic hordes forced the Imperials to fall back to their secure positions, leaving the settlement in traitor hands.
On the far side of the dome, hordes of deamons and traitors rolled over the swarming xenos-breeds and the few Imperial Guardsmen and gained control of the Thunderhawk monument, but not before a tide of Ork Nobs and their Warboss sent many of them howling back to the warp. On the outskirts of the battle huge tyranid biobeasts ate their way through anything that came close to them, even the deamons quickly learned to avoid the rampaging behemoths.
In the end, the forces of the traitous powers managed to retain control of the station, however, small pockets of Imperial and Xenos forces remain on the station, biding their time and waiting for an opportunity to regain the advantage.
Thank you to all who attended, it was a very close Apoc game and I hope you all had fun. All of you have received your bonus victory points.
